Avalanche Pest Control

Rebuilt a family-run Illawarra pest control business on a fast custom site: service and suburb pages tuned for urgent local search, with live Google reviews built in.

Avalanche Pest Control website

The brief

Avalanche Pest Control is a family-run outfit run by Simon, covering Wollongong and the Illawarra from Helensburgh down to Nowra. The work was never the issue: licensed, insured, genuinely good at the job, with a wall of 5-star reviews to show for it. The website was. Pest control is urgent, local, and searched almost entirely on a phone. Someone finds a redback nest or hears rats in the roof, and they want a local who can come this week, not after they've scrolled past three slow pages. Simon's old site wasn't pulling its weight on speed or on search. The brief was a site that loads instantly, ranks across the whole service area, and makes calling Avalanche the obvious next move.

What we built

A fast custom site built around how people actually look for a pest controller. Nine service pages, one for each job from spider and cockroach treatments through to termite inspections, each written plainly and aimed at the search that brings it in. Eight suburb landing pages across the footprint, from Wollongong and Dapto to Kiama and Nowra, so the site turns up whether someone searches "pest control Corrimal" or "termite inspection Shellharbour". The phone number and a quote button sit in front of you on every screen, because a pest problem is a now problem. Simon's live Google reviews are pulled straight onto the site, so the 5-star rating stays current instead of going stale. It's custom-built and hosted on Cloudflare's edge rather than a WordPress template, so it's quick everywhere, with no plugin bloat to slow it down or break.

The Pagecog approach

We built the site as a local-search engine, not a brochure. Every service and suburb page is marked up so Google understands exactly what Avalanche does and where, the business details stay consistent across the site and the Google profile, and the whole thing is wired to analytics so Simon can see what's actually bringing in the calls. The reviews, the suburb coverage and the technical fundamentals all point the same way: when someone in the Illawarra has a pest problem and reaches for their phone, Avalanche is the local name that comes up and the one that's easiest to call.
