Ovas Build

Rebuilt a Wollongong builder's Wix site as a fast TanStack Start site: twelve service pages, suburb pages across seven council areas, a three-field quote form and Google Ads landing pages.

Ovas Build website

The brief

Ovas Build is a licensed residential builder based in Wollongong, with more than ten years in the trade. They build granny flats, home renovations and extensions, and also take on new homes, duplexes, knockdown rebuilds, decks, pergolas, kitchens and bathrooms. Their work covers the Illawarra, Kiama, the Shoalhaven, the Southern Highlands and Macarthur. The site was on Wix. It showed their work, but it was not built around the questions a homeowner asks before calling a builder. The brief was a site that explains each type of build properly, shows real jobs, and makes it easy to ask for a quote by phone or form.

What we built

A custom site on TanStack Start and Tailwind, with a design palette taken from the Ovas Build logo. There is a page for each of the twelve services, from granny flats and home extensions to joinery and knockdown rebuilds, and a gallery of photos from real client jobs. Suburb pages group the areas they service by region, so someone in Kiama or Bowral sees a page written for their area. Behind that sits a library of more than fifty blog posts on the questions people ask before they hire a builder, including costs, council approvals, timelines and design options. A few longer guides cover granny flat costs, designs and kits. The licence number and the Google rating sit on the page, so the trust signals are in front of the visitor and not buried.

The quote form asks for three things: a name, a phone or email, and a message. Nothing else is required, so there is little to fill in on a phone. Leads are emailed straight to the Ovas inbox, along with a single line noting where the enquiry came from.

The Pagecog approach

We built the site to be found and to convert. Every page carries structured data for the business, its services and its service areas, and the FAQ sections are marked up so search engines can read the questions and answers. The sitemap is generated on each build, so new suburb and blog pages are listed without manual work.

For paid traffic, we built separate landing pages with no site navigation, so a visitor from an ad has one job to do. Phone taps, quote button clicks and form submissions are tracked as events in Google Analytics and passed to Google Ads, which lets the team see which ads produce enquiries and not only clicks. It is the same approach we describe in our guide to moving off WordPress: a fast, owned site with the content and tracking built in from the start. If you want something similar, our web design service is the place to start.
