The shortlist is made from photos

Tiling is a visual trade sold to people who cannot judge the work until it is done. A customer cannot test a wall for flat tiles and tight grout lines, so they judge by pictures and by how you explain yourself.

That changes what SEO does for a tiler. Rankings matter, but the page a visitor lands on matters more. It needs to show finished work clearly, say where it was, and answer the obvious questions before they have to ring. We build the site around your own photos.

One page per project

A gallery of forty unlabelled images tells Google nothing. A project page tells it plenty: a bathroom in a particular suburb, what the owner wanted, the tile size and layout, the challenges in the room and the finished result.

We write these with you. You send photos and a few lines on each job, we shape them into a page, and each page links to the matching service page for bathrooms, floors or outdoor areas. Over time the site builds a record of real work in real places, which is hard for a competitor to copy.

Bathrooms, floors and outdoor areas

These are three different searches. Bathroom tiling is the biggest job for most tilers and involves waterproofing, falls to the drain, niches and corner detail. Floor tiling is about preparation, large format tiles and flatness. Outdoor and pool tiling brings slip ratings, drainage and sun.

We write one page for each of these you want more of. A bathroom page explains the sequence and what you need from the builder on the day. A floor page covers what happens when a slab is not flat. Each page carries your photos, your licence details and a short quote form asking for a name, a phone number or email, and a comment.

Waterproofing, handled carefully

Customers ask about waterproofing, and the answer depends on who does it. Some states treat it as licensed work. We do not write about waterproofing until you tell us what you hold and who does the membrane on your jobs. If you do not do it, the page says you work with the waterproofer, which is honest and still useful.

The builder relationship

A builder or renovator sends you work all year and reads your site differently from a householder. They want to know your lead times, how many tilers turn up, whether you take on commercial fit outs and how you deal with a rushed handover.

If builders matter to you, we add a page written for them. They rarely search for a tiler by name. They check the one they have been told about, and a clear page with recent jobs and your details makes the recommendation stick. Ovas Build is a builder we work with that does bathroom renovations, which is the kind of customer who keeps a tiler on call.

Regrouting and small repairs

Not every tiling search is for a full job. People search regrout shower, cracked tile repair and mouldy grout, and a small job can lead to a renovation later. If you take these jobs, give them a short page of their own. It should say what a regrout involves, what you can and cannot fix when the problem is a leak behind the wall, and how to send a photo. These pages are cheap to write, tend to face less competition, and show the owner how you work before they trust you with a bigger room.

Your Google Business Profile

Householders also search tiler near me. We set your primary category to tiler, add secondary categories only for work you do, set the service area to where you actually travel and keep your hours true. We add project photos each month and help you ask for a review after each finished job, when the owner is most pleased with the room.

What to expect

Rankings move daily and say little alone. We count taps on your phone number and every quote form, and we read Search Console for the searches that found you. Each month you get a plain report on what changed.

Early clicks often come from people searching your business name, which is normal. Growth in searches for bathroom tiling in your area is the better sign.

What we will not promise

No one can promise a ranking, a date or a number of jobs. We work from true details, a page for each job and honest numbers. You can cancel the SEO add-on on 30 days notice.

How people look for a tiler

A tiler is rarely the first person a renovator rings. The builder or the owner picks the layout, then looks for someone to lay it. They search bathroom tiler or floor tiling cost, scroll through photos, and check whether the tiler also handles waterproofing. Photos of real work decide the shortlist, and a builder with a standing list of tilers rarely searches at all.

The jobs they need

  • Bathroom tiling
  • Waterproofing
  • Floor tiling
  • Outdoor and pool tiling

What they type into Google

  • bathroom tiler
  • tiler near me
  • bathroom waterproofing
  • floor tiling cost

Other trade sites we run

We do not run a tiling site yet. Ovas Build is a builder that does bathroom renovations, and All Round Carpentry is a carpenter. Both have sites and search we run. They show the method, with numbers from their own Search Console and analytics. They are not tiling results.

SEO for tilers: your questions

Do tilers get work from Google, or only from builders?
Both. Many tilers earn most of their income from builders and renovators who ring them directly. Householders planning their own bathroom or paving job do search, and they are often the ones paying a better rate per square metre. SEO is for that second group, and it gives builders a place to check you.
How should a tiler show their work online?
With your own photos of finished jobs, each on a page that says where, what the room was and what you laid. Close ups of corners, niches and drains show skill. Stock photos of tiles do not. We help you sort and caption photos so each project becomes a page.
Should I advertise waterproofing?
Only if you are licensed or authorised to do it where you work. Rules differ by state, and some states treat waterproofing as licensed work. We do not write about waterproofing until you confirm what you hold, and we show your licence details where a customer can see them.
Do I need a page for each type of tile?
Not for each product. People search for the job, such as bathroom tiling or large format floor tiles, more than for a tile name. We build pages for the jobs you want, and mention materials inside them when they affect price or time.
Can I rank in suburbs where I have done few jobs?
Only with something true to say there. A project page for a bathroom in a nearby suburb gives Google a reason to show you in that area. A page that swaps the suburb name on a template does not, and Google's spam policies describe pages like that as doorways.
Is a price per square metre worth publishing?
Many searches ask for it, so a page that explains what drives the price can win those clicks. We usually write what changes the cost, such as layout complexity, tile size, floor preparation and waterproofing, and give a range only if you are happy to stand behind it.
How long will SEO take for a tiler?
Nobody can give a date. Business Profile changes can show within weeks. Project pages take longer, and it depends on how many tilers near you cover the same work. We report what moved each month so you can judge it.
