People shortlist before they ring
A homeowner does not call a builder after one search. They look at a dozen sites, save photos and cut the list to two or three. The builder who is missing from the list never knows.
So a builder's site has two jobs. It has to appear when someone searches for a build, and it has to hold up when they read it. The first is SEO. The second is what we write on the page.
A page for each kind of build
People search for the project, not the builder. Granny flat, second storey, duplex, knockdown rebuild and deck are different searches with different buyers. A page for each can rank for its own search. A single services list cannot.
Each page covers what the project involves, the approvals it needs, what changes the cost and how long it takes. We avoid made up price ranges. If you are willing to give a range, we put it on the page with what it depends on. If not, the page says what you need to know to quote.
Project pages from your own photos
Buyers shortlist on past work. A project page shows one job from start to finish: the block, what the client wanted, the problems you solved and photos of the result. Your own photos beat stock every time, and customers can tell the difference.
We tag each project with the suburb and the type of build, so a search for builders in that area has something real to match. A few thorough project pages are worth more than a gallery of unlabelled images.
Paperwork, said plainly
Buyers check your licence, your insurance and how you handle council. Builder licensing is run by each state, so we state it generally or check the specific rule before we publish. A process page that explains how you work through approvals and what happens between the first visit and a contract answers questions that most builders' sites skip.
Build pages only for what you do
An Illawarra builder we work with removed pages for services it did not offer. When it started building new homes, duplexes and knockdown rebuilds, we added pages for them. The site now has more than a hundred pages, and was live in about a week. Before that, the owner had tried lead services and got no leads from any of them. He now reports several large project enquiries a week, and says that in his own words on the case study.
Timing the year
Enquiries tend to rise after Christmas and in spring, when people plan the year's project. Build timing follows approvals more than seasons. We plan guides and project pages ahead of those periods, so they are ranking when the planning starts.
What we count
We count taps on your phone number and every quote form, and each enquiry email says where it came from. Because the sales cycle is long, we report enquiries and not signed jobs, and we judge them over months. Early clicks often come from people searching your business name. We report those apart from searches for the projects themselves.
What we will not promise
Nobody can promise a ranking or a number of jobs. We build pages for the work you take, show it with your own photos and send an honest report every month. Cancel on 30 days notice.
Council and approvals as content
Many builders skip the part customers worry about most. Who lodges the plans? How long does an approval take? What happens if council asks for changes? We write a page on how you handle it, in plain language, without quoting rules that differ by council. A buyer who understands the process before the first visit is easier to work with.
Guides that build trust
Some of the best pages for a builder are guides that answer early questions, such as what a granny flat needs before building starts or how a knockdown rebuild is staged. They bring in people at the start of the decision, and show how you think. We write them in plain language, check the facts and keep them to jobs you actually do.
How people look for a builder
Building is a long decision. Someone with a block and a budget types granny flat builders or knockdown rebuild, reads for weeks, then shortlists two or three builders from what they can see. Cost searches such as house extension cost come early. Builder searches with a town name come late. Months can pass between the first search and a signed contract.

Work we run for builders
Ovas Build is a residential builder whose site, search and Google Ads we run. Its enquiry count includes visitors from Google search and Google Ads together, so it does not show what search alone delivers. All Round Carpentry is a carpenter, shown for the method.

SEO for builders: your questions
- How is SEO for a builder different from SEO for other trades?
- The sales cycle is long and the jobs are large. People read for weeks and compare past work. So the site needs a page for each type of build, project pages with your own photos, and a clear account of how you handle approvals and contracts.
- Do I need a page for each type of build?
- For each one you want more of, yes. Extensions, granny flats, new homes, duplexes and knockdown rebuilds are searched by name. A single page that lists them all cannot rank for any.
- Should I list services I do not offer yet?
- No. A page for work you do not take brings enquiries you turn away. One builder we work with removed pages for services it did not offer, then added new homes, duplex and knockdown rebuild pages once it started doing that work.
- How many enquiries will SEO bring me?
- Nobody can promise a number. One builder we work with logged about fifteen enquiries in two weeks from Google search and Google Ads together. That is one business, in one place, over a short time, and your result will differ.
- What does a builder's quote form need to ask?
- A name, a phone number or email, and a comment. Longer forms put people off on a phone. You can ask about budget, block and timing when you call back.
- How long before SEO shows results for a builder?
- Nobody can give a date. Because buyers take months to decide, an enquiry today often comes from a search made weeks ago. We report each month what moved, and you judge it over a few months.
- Can I cancel?
- Yes. SEO is a month to month add-on and cancels on 30 days notice. The site and its content stay yours.
