A trade with no ABS class and a spring peak

Search starts with the material
Colorbond fence is searched far more than fencing contractors. In Google Trends for Australia, the material and pool terms outscore the contractor term several times over, and the autocomplete is full of cost per metre, gate, extension and installed price.
So the site is built as a page per material you fit. Each has your own photos, the lengths you fitted, what a quote includes and how long a job takes. Composite, timber and glass pool fencing get their own pages if you fit them.
Who pays for the fence
The second large group of searches is a legal question. Dividing fence act, boundary fence height, who owns the fence on the boundary. A neighbour has asked for a contribution, or the owner wants to ask for one.
We write a page for each state you work in. NSW has the Dividing Fences Act 1991, Queensland the Neighbourhood Disputes (Dividing Fences and Trees) Act 2011, and Victoria the Fences Act 1968. Each page says the owners generally share the cost of a sufficient fence when the notice steps are followed, names the steps and links the official guidance. It gives no legal advice and takes no side in a dispute.
Pool fencing and the certificate
Pool fence searches peak in spring and again in January, and they are tied to dates. A sale or a lease needs a certificate in several states, and the cycle differs. NSW certificates generally last three years. Queensland pool safety certificates last two years for non-shared pools. Victoria requires a certificate of barrier compliance every four years.
A page for each state names its steps and says what you check and repair. Landlords and agents are the readers, and they want to know how fast you can attend.
Timing the work
Interest in these terms is lowest in May and June and climbs through winter. Pages published in August are indexed when the peak arrives. We plan the content calendar from the Trends pattern, and we add storm and bushfire pages when a local event drives searches, since a five-year average hides them.
Local, without the doorway pages
A crew covers a metro region, and the Business Profile is one service-area profile. A suburb page earns its place only with real jobs, photos and local detail such as a council rule on fence height. We build few of them, with content written for the place.
What you receive each month
We count taps on your phone number and quote forms, which ask for a name, a phone number or an email, and a comment. We read Search Console for the searches that found you and send a plain report every month. We do not promise rankings or a number of jobs. The SEO add-on is month to month and cancels on 30 days notice.
Platforms, a franchise and the hardware aisle
We have not measured the results page or the map pack for fencing. This is what the market looks like.
- Lead platforms
- hipages, Airtasker, ServiceSeeking and Oneflare list fencing categories. We hold no share figure.
- Jim's Fencing
- A national franchise, so it can appear beside an independent in the results.
- Hardware retailers
- Kit and DIY searches such as Colorbond fence kits.
- Independent fencers
- Many one-person operators. A page per material and per state rule is how a small firm earns a place.
A metro region, with state pages for state law
Regional
A crew covers 30 to 50 minutes, so suburb and council pages work for installs. The law is state law, so the rules pages must be written per state.
- One Business Profile as a service-area business, never one per suburb
- Categories that match the work, such as fence contractor and pool fence contractor
- Pool compliance and dividing fence pages written per state
- Suburb pages only where you have jobs and a local council rule to explain
