Web design for cleaners, with the price on the first screen

People ask what a clean costs before they ask anything else. The site answers that, shows who turns up, and takes a booking in one step.

Most cleaners work alone, and new ones start every week

The count below is ABN-registered businesses in one ABS class, not cleaning companies. The class also covers window, gutter, pool and industrial cleaning.

What the site has to settle

A visitor to a cleaner's site is deciding whether a stranger can have the key. The first screen therefore carries the suburbs you cover, a starting price and a button. Under it sit the things a careful person looks for: the registered name and ABN, the insurance you hold, and whether the person who arrives is an employee or a contractor.

We write the service pages around what people book. Regular cleans, deep cleans and office cleans each get a page with their own scope list, so the visitor sees what is included and what costs extra. Extras such as ovens, fridges and inside windows are named once and priced once.

The form stays short

The quote form asks for a name, a phone number or an email, and a comment. The comment is where the suburb, the number of bedrooms and the start date go. You reply by text or phone, and the details come from that conversation. A longer form loses people on a phone, and it collects information you do not need before you have said hello.

Photos you took

Finished rooms, your own caddy and your own vehicle show a real business. We replace stock images as your photos arrive, and we keep faces out of the frame unless the person has agreed to be shown.

Four kinds of enquiry, one site

The page a visitor lands on should match what they are trying to buy.

Never wear a regulator's logo

NSW Fair Trading and the ACCC

The Australian Consumer Law bans false or misleading claims about a service, a price or an approval. On 30 September 2026 a NSW cleaner was sentenced for advertising itself as NSW Fair Trading recommended and for displaying Fair Trading, REINSW and Tenants' Union logos.

The site shows your registered business name and ABN in the footer, uses no regulator or industry logos and no phrase like approved or recommended unless a document backs it. A from price on the page has to be one you really charge.

A home services site we have built

We run no cleaning site yet. Wollongong Service Company is a home services business, appliance repair, whose site we built around a phone number, a service area and a booking form. It is the nearest we have, not a cleaning result.

Web design for cleaners: your questions

What should a cleaner's home page show first?
The suburbs you clean, a starting price for a typical home and one way to book. Anyone arriving from a map listing has already seen your name, so they are checking those three things.
Should I put prices on the site?
A guide by home size answers the question people type most, which is what a clean costs. Say what the price covers and what is extra. The Australian Consumer Law requires prices to be accurate and not misleading, so a from price must be one you really charge.
Should the site have online booking or a quote form?
A quote form is enough for most sole traders. It asks for a name, a phone number or an email, and a comment where the visitor adds the suburb and number of bedrooms. A booking widget helps when you run a team and a calendar.
Do I say my cleaners are employees or contractors?
Say whichever is true. The Fair Work Ombudsman pursues sham contracting in cleaning, and a visitor reading closely can tell if the wording is vague. The Cleaning Award covers employers in contract cleaning and their employees, not independent contractors.
Can I write NDIS approved on the site?
Only if you are registered for the support category you bill. Unregistered providers can serve self-managed and plan-managed participants, and the page should say that in plain words and not suggest more.
Do I need a page for every suburb?
Only for places where you have real work to describe. Google's spam policy treats pages made to rank for specific cities or regions as doorway pages, and a page that only swaps the suburb name is the usual example.
Can the site name the cleaner who comes?
Yes, and it helps if it is true. People are handing over a key, so a first name and a photo of the person or the team does more than a line about trust. Only promise the same cleaner each visit if you can keep that promise.
