Web design for builders, built to be shortlisted
A builder's site is a document that gets compared with two others. It shows the work, explains the process and puts the paperwork where it can be checked.
- $298 a month
- Website for builders, AUD, GST inclusive
- No build fee
- We carry the cost of the build and recover it through the monthly fee over a 12 month term
- Live in 48 hours
- Hosting on Cloudflare, SSL and security upkeep
What each visitor has to find
Months pass between the first visit and a signed contract, so the site is opened many times by the same household.
- Cost researcher
- Early, weeks before any call
- A cost guide that says what the range includes. Granny flat cost and house extension cost lead the suggestions Google offers.
- Approvals worrier
- Early
- A plain account of how you handle council or a private certifier, and for NSW granny flats whether complying development is likely.
- Shortlister
- Middle
- Project pages with the suburb, the scope and your own photos, then the licence and insurance in one place.
- Ready to ring
- Late
- A three-field quote form and a number that dials on a tap.
What the site is for
A builder's site is read by people who have not decided yet. It has to answer three questions in the order they arise: what do these people build, how do they work, and are they who they say they are.
We organise the pages the same way. The build types come first, each with project pages under it. The process page follows, in stages, with who is responsible at each one. The licence, registration and insurance block closes every page. The photos are yours, with the suburb written next to them.
What your site is compared with
We have not measured the results for any build search. These are the kinds of site a builder's page sits beside.
- Project home brands
- Large display-centre brands own the broad build terms. A small builder wins on named projects and a named area.
- Lead platforms
- hipages reports 36.6 thousand paying tradies across all trades. The owner of Ovas Build told us they gave him no leads. That is one business, so it is not a rule.
- Other local builders
- There are 95,329 residential builder businesses in two ABS classes, and 61% to 76% of them have no employees. Buyers see a stream of new names, so proof of past work matters.
Licence, registration and insurance in one block
NSW Fair Trading, QBCC, the Victorian Building and Plumbing Commission, WA and SA regulators
NSW requires a licence for residential building work over $5,000 and the licensee name, number and phone number in all advertising. Queensland requires a licence over $3,300 and the licensed name, number and a QBCC Act statement. Victoria's regulator is now the Building and Plumbing Commission, and the VBA name is out of date. WA and SA also require the number in advertising.
One block, set by state, holds the licence class, number and insurance. It goes on every page and next to each build type. We do not advertise work the licence does not cover.

Ovas Build is a residential builder whose site we built in about a week from Wix. Its enquiry count includes visitors from Google search and Google Ads together. All Round Carpentry is a carpenter, shown for the project page method.
