The pest is the search
Pest control searches describe a problem, not a company. People type possums in roof, bed bugs, cockroaches in kitchen or a spider they have just found. Many do not know what they are looking at until the page tells them.
That makes pest control one of the easiest trades to organise for search. Each pest gets a page. Each page says what the pest is, what the signs are, what treatment involves and how to book. A customer who lands on it has their question answered and a number to ring.
Guides before the call
A person with flying ants in the kitchen is not ready to call anyone. They want to know whether it means termites. A guide answering that question catches them early, and it points to the inspection page when the answer is yes.
On the Avalanche Pest Control site we run, more than thirty guides cover pests from possums in the roof to earwigs and slaters. Google now sends the site about four times the clicks it did before the rebuild, measured over the four and a half months after launch against the same length of time before. We show the full numbers, including that over half the clicks are still people searching the business name.
The urgent call
Some pest jobs are urgent. A wasp nest over a child's play area, rats in the ceiling at night, a redback beside the front door. The caller wants someone this week, and they go to the first business on the map that looks open and trustworthy.
That is a Business Profile job. We set the right primary category, add the treatments you do, set a service area that matches where you drive, and keep hours honest. We add photos from real jobs and ask for reviews after each visit, because a caller choosing between three listings reads the stars.
Live reviews on the site
A rating copied onto a page goes out of date. The Avalanche site checks the business's Google listing and refreshes the rating on a schedule, and if the check fails it keeps the last known figure. A service area business with no street address can stop the standard tool finding it, so we use another data source.
Reviews matter more in this trade than in most. Someone is letting you into their roof space or their home, and they are looking for reasons to trust you.
Termites and pre purchase inspections
These are slow, planned searches. A buyer needs a report before settlement and checks whether the inspector is licensed. A homeowner who found mud tubes wants to know the next step.
We write inspection pages that say what a report covers, how long a visit takes, what happens if activity is found and which treatments you offer. The claims stay plain. We do not use fear to sell. Licensing rules differ by state, so we check yours before we write.
Commercial and strata accounts
Cafes, restaurants, aged care homes and strata managers need regular pest treatments and records for inspectors. They search less often and compare more carefully. A page written for them covers visit schedules, reports and how you handle a kitchen that must stay open. It is a different reader from the householder with a wasp nest, so it gets a separate page.
Seasonal content
Pests follow the weather. Ants and spiders rise in spring and summer, rodents move indoors in winter, and termites swarm in warm, humid weather. We plan guides a month ahead of each peak, so they have time to be found.
Suburb pages that earn their place
A page for each town can help a pest controller appear in places they work. It only helps if each page has local detail, such as the common pests, housing types and typical callouts. On Avalanche we found a batch of near identical suburb pages had lost visibility. We rewrote them so none shared text and removed those with nothing to say.
Measured in calls
We count taps on your phone number and each quote form, and read Search Console for the searches that found you. Each month you get a plain report on what moved and what we did. Avalanche records about five enquiries a month through quote forms and phone taps since tracking began in July. We tell you that figure because it is real, and because it shows how enquiries grow slowly.
What we will not promise
No one can promise a ranking, a date or a number of jobs. You can cancel the SEO add-on on 30 days notice.
How people look for a pest controller
People rarely search for a pest controller by name. They search for the pest. Someone who finds a redback nest types redback spider removal. Someone who hears scratching in the ceiling types rats in roof. A buyer with a contract on a house types termite inspection. The pest is the search term, so the pest is the page.

SEO for pest controllers: your questions
- Does a pest controller need a page for every pest?
- For the pests you treat and want more of, yes. People search the creature or the symptom, such as flying ants, mice in the kitchen or wasp nest, and a page about that pest can match. A single services page listing everything cannot. We write the pages with you so the advice is correct.
- Is a Google rating on the website worth having?
- Yes. Someone with rats in the roof is deciding fast and wants proof you are real. The Avalanche site shows its Google rating and refreshes it on a schedule. A rating typed in by hand goes stale, so we avoid that.
- What about termite inspection pages?
- Termite work is planned and checked. Buyers look for your licence, what a report covers and what happens if activity is found. We write a page that answers those, without scare tactics, and keep claims to what you actually do and are licensed for.
- Should I show prices on my website?
- It helps. Avalanche has a rodent control pricing page, so callers know what to expect before ringing. A person who has seen a range is easier to talk to than one who is guessing. We only publish figures you are happy to stand behind.
- Can I have a page for every suburb?
- Only where each page says something true and different. A batch of near identical suburb pages lost visibility on the Avalanche site, so we cut them back and rewrote the rest. We would rather build fewer, better pages.
- What licence details belong on the site?
- Pest management technicians are licensed, and the rules differ by state. We show your licence details where a customer can see them, and we check your state's rules on how they may be shown before we write the copy.
- Will SEO bring more pest control jobs?
- We cannot promise jobs or rankings. On Avalanche, Google sends about four times the clicks it did before the rebuild, though over half still come from people searching the business name. We report that split every month.
